Another round of Fort Lauderdale MCA Oral Exams completed! The MCA oral exam is the final step in the process of becoming a deck officer. The exams can last up to two hours and the examiner may ask the candidate absolutely anything in the syllabus. Ask anyone who's done it knows it can be an incredibly tough challenge and success depends on hours and hours of hard work and diligent preparation.

As the July 1st deadline approaches we have been inundated with candidates wanting to complete their OOW and Master training and before July. For this reason we are planning to add additional courses leading up the orals in April and all the way through to the middle of June in order to cope with the demand.
Does your yacht operate as an RYA training centre? We have an RYA trainer coming to Fort Lauderdale in February. He is able to undertake vessel inspections and training. We aim to get enough yachts share the expenses of flying a trainer from Europe. Let us know if this works or if you would like us to coordinate an alternative time to complete your RYA training centre requirments.
2012 has been a great year for us. ICT is now firmly established and offering the very best training standards available and we remain grateful to our customers for choosing to train with us.

The MCA orals are complete and the results are in! The pass rates were once again excellent - 83% overall and 100% for masters! Needless to say we are delighted with the outcome and already making preparations for the next orals which are scheduled for earely April. The exact dates will be confirmed within the next two weeks. If you are ready for the MCA oral exam or planning it for the end of the winter season let us know soon so we can make sure you get a place!
